Our last post talked about how Jesus is the light of the world, and how instead of trying to control our own lives, we should let Jesus light our paths.
This is what we at C.G.I.A. figure. If Jesus is the light of the world, and we are made in His image, then we are also lights of the world! But you don’t have to take our word for it.
Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world…
Yeah. That means YOU, dear reader. You are the light of the world!
God also says, Out of darkness, the light shall shine.
Remember that no matter what you are going through, you will always overcome if you are following Jesus Christ. John 8:12 I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
And think about it this way: In order to truly appreciate light, there has to be darkness! You may go through some really dark times in your life, but your light will shine so brightly that the darkness will begin to dissolve!
Now. What does light in the physical world do? It allows people to see.
Spiritual lights do the same thing. We allow people to see and hear the Truth. We share our faith and what we’ve learned in order to spread the light.
After following Jesus and surrendering yourselves to Him, you won’t even be able to hide your light. Shine brightly!
Matthew 5:14…A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Shine your light on everything and everyone–not just to other people with the same light. (Even though it is good practice. There is never too much spiritual light.) But remember to shine your light in dark places so that ALL may see His Truth and Goodness as well!
Remember what Mr. Adrian Rogers said: When you get right with God and are filled with the Holy Spirit, He will simply shine through you!
