Grab an M&M! (Some Motivation from Monday)!

A few nuggets to take with you from Monday’s post:
🔹M&M 1: John 8:12 “I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Once we choose to follow His light, we banish all opportunity of darkness to consume us!
🔹M&M 2: Once you begin following Him, you will become so infused with His light that you will begin reflecting the light! You won’t even have to tell anyone about your new lifestyle because they will see that you have already changed–not just because of your glow, but by your actions and new faith that you will begin to release.

🔹M&M 3: Stay unwavering in your faith, and He will put a new song in your mouth! Sing it for all to hear!

***1 Peter 3:15 “…always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you…”

Grab an M&M! (Some Motivation from Monday)!!

A few nuggets to take with you from Monday:
🔹M&M 1: If Jesus is the light of the world, and we are made in his image, then we are also lights of the world!
Matthew 5:14 “Ye are lights of the world.”
🔹M&M 2: Think about it, in order to truly appreciate light, there has to be darkness! You may go through some really dark times in your life, but your light will shine so brightly that the darkness will eventually go away!
🔹M&M 3: Now, what does light in the physical world do? It allows people to see. Spiritual lights do the same thing. We allow people to see and hear the Truth. We share our faith and what we’ve learned in order to spread the light.

A few nuggets from Monday’s post to remember for the remainder of this week:
🔹M&M 1: We found out what it was that have been holding us back and keeping us from our destinies now, meditate, pray, shared your inventory, and ask the universe, spirit, Allah, Buddha, God, for forgiveness. Forgiveness for letting those negative traits hold you back for so long.
🔹M&M 2: Share your inventory with another human being! Sharing your thoughts, feelings, and realizations that has been stuck floating around in your head will empower you. Find that person that you trust and let it all out.
🔹M&M 3: James 5:16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed.”

Need some M&M?? (Motivation from Monday)

Monday is usually when we’ll be posting our lessons for the week, and because we’re all human, sometimes we need some inspiration and some more motivation to keep us going–especially towards the end of the week!

Welcome to our other new segment! “Need Some M&M??”

This is where we’ll throw you some motivation and reminders–just in case you need a boost!

♦M&M 1: Regarding our past issues, problems, and negative traits–Many times we try to push these things to the back of our minds! But we can’t live that way–unless we want to live in darkness for the rest of our lives.

M&M 2: Step one in any type of self-work is recognizing the problem.

M&M 3: Remember to forgive yourself and others for past negative circumstances and reactions. Because you’ve acknowledged them all, you now have the power to change.

FIRST KEY RELEASE!!!!! (Including C.G.I.A’s First Challenge!)

As we’ve mentioned before, the first key needed to unlock your fate is “LIGHT”. In this case, we will be bringing our past issues, problems, and negative traits to the light. Many times we try to push these things to the back of our minds! But we can’t live that way–unless we want to live in darkness for the rest of our lives. So we now present to you ladies…(and gentlemen)… C.G.I.A.’s FIRST CHALLENGE!

We all know that step one in any type of self-work is recognizing the problem. And usually…we find that there are multiple problems. First, I, Kay, will share my personal inventory that I took awhile ago. Afterwards, I encourage you to fill out the inventory sheet included in this post and email it to cgialca@gmail.com to receive an e-certificate! (Continue reading to find out more about this challenge.)

Now, You!

CGIA Challenge 1

After you have acknowledged your “negative traits” (no traits are actually negative…it just depends on how you use those traits…embrace them all but focus on the positive ones!) you may proceed to “throw away” those feelings that you had about those traits!

Remember to forgive yourself for past circumstances and reactions. Because you’ve acknowledged them all, you now have the power to change.

***To literally THROW AWAY your negative feelings, fill out the “negative traits” sheet (1st page) and email it to cgialca@gmail.com to receive an e-certificate that states that you have completed challenge #1! And then… FORGET ABOUT IT! It’s now time to focus on your BEST traits!***

Kay Gets in Action!!!

Kay Gets in Action” is the name of one of C.G.I.A.’s new segments. (You’ll be seeing a lot of new things around here soon.)

In these segments, our founder, Kay, will show you all how she puts each of the major lessons we learn every Monday into action!

Hello you all!! Kay typing! We’ve been introduced before but in case you would like a refresher course (hehe) take a look at the “About Me” section to the right >>>>>>>>>>

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

                          >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Referring back to Monday’s post, you’ll see that it was time for us all to do a little bit of inventory on ourselves. The first key that was released was the key of Light, so in this circumstance, we were bringing all of our past issues, problems, and negative traits to the light.

In this new segment of C.G.I.A.–Kay Gets in Action–as it was mentioned earlier, I’ll be showing you how I personally added these keys to my life, and in the end, got everything I’ve ever wanted!

DIY Paper Lanterns :) :) :)

I decided that it’s time to heat things up a little by making these old-time-favorites! Paper lanterns! If you have any kids, or you’re still a kid in your heart, I suggest that you make these. It’ll be fun, I promise. And, it’ll add a whimsical–yet somewhat chic–somewhat–feel to your home or office or dorm or play pen…wherever you may be positioned at this time….

Materials: wpid-img_20141105_172726.jpg

  • 2 pieces of construction paper (preferably the sturdy kind)
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • marker
  • tape
  • string
  • hooks (optional)
  • spray paint (optional)

Let’s get started!

wpid-img_20141105_172448.jpg ***Follow these pictures from left to right to bottom***

Step 1: *This piece shall be called Mr. Hamburger* Remember the hamburger and hot dog folds from elementary school? Well, believe it or not, those will actually come in handy right about now.

Hamburger fold your first color of construction paper chosen (This one will be slightly hidden, so make sure that you chose the complimentary color, and not your favorite color.)

Step 2: Cut it in half.

Step 3: Wrap it around itself to create a tube, and use your tape to seal Mr. Hamburger closed.

Step 4: *This piece shall be called Mr. Hotdog* Okay, now I suggest that you use your most favorite color for this part because this paper will make up the outside of your lantern. Hot-dog fold this piece.

Step 5: Using your marker and ruler, draw a straight line near the “open-edge” of your paper.

Step 6: With your scissors, create slits that go all the way to your straight line that you drew, and stop cutting when you’ve reached the line. (These slits do not have to be perfect, I’ve actually made mine to be different sizes on purpose for some of my lanterns.) Now unfold Mr. Hotdog.

wpid-img_20141105_172633.jpg

Step 7: Wrap Mr. Hotdog around Mr. Hamburger, taping them together. (To discreetly hide the dotted line, I placed this side of Mr. Hotdog on the bottom of the lantern.)

Step 8 (optional) : On previous lanterns that I made, I used a little bit of metallic gold spray paint to gently spray a transparent layer of paint on top of the lantern to make some of the color peep through.

Step 9: You do not have to hang these, but I love to hang mine from the ceiling and watch them spin when the fan is on or something…. I just use a hole-puncher (or a pencil) to create holes near the top to put string through, and then I just use transparent tape to hang them up by the string. You could use hooks for a more professional look.

And… that’s it. Enjoy!

***I’m eventually going to make about 50 more of these to hang all over the entire ceiling. Well, I don’t really know about that, but it’d be a really pretty view***

****If you decide to make some of your own, feel free to share pictures below!****
