Girls Just Wanna Have Fund$–Motivation Monday!

Okay so you want to buy this, and you want to buy that, but yikes. Where did all the “just for fun” money go? You paid your bills, you gave back the money you loaned from your dad, you put gas in the car and now…here you are at your local Hobby Lobby, trying to buy those items you needed in order to make that new product you wanted to place in your online store, but you realize that you’ve already gone $11.72 over your budget for the week. What now?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fund$ 101

If that story sounded anything like you—hear us out.

The very first lesson of “Mula” that the CGIA squad wants to share with you is to never just have one source of income.

You want to have enough fund$ to live life to the fullest? You need to create multiple ways for you to receive coins.

It’s a lesson that has been taught around the world many different ways. There’s a whole lesson about the “four streams” that we suggest you Google 🙂 . But here’s a quick rundown:

In the Bible it talks about four rivers that flowed into the Garden of Eden that helped it to thrive. It was then related back to our own lives. If we want to live a life of abundance like God intended, we need to have at least four streams of income flowing into our lives.

Your four streams should look something like this:

  1. Inventions: Believe that you will come up with new ideas that are necessary. You are capable of developing new ways and methods.
  2. Investments: Save, save, save, and save some more. Invest in stocks or shares. Make your money work for you.
  3. Steady Income: Take the job. Do whatever you need to do to be able to have a steady flow of income. Remember that the position you take is not your final destination. Better is coming.
  4. Faith: Believe that people can be blessings. Believe that doors will open. Believe that whatever it is that you need to make your dreams come true is available to you!

We know that for the most part, not all of these streams will be flowing at once—but it is not impossible! Keep your faith and work on making them flow at the same time in order to create the life that you have always imagined.

Even though it seems that this post was mainly about money, our biggest tip here is to NOT have your focus be on money! Shocking, right?

Bishop T.D. Jakes said it best, “Money is not your mission, it funds your mission”

The Somewhat Uncomfortable Topic.

Let’s talk puberty!

Nooo don’t groan! This talk will be fun, I PROMISE.

So you were like 8,9,10,11,12,13 when something funny started happening to your body right? I mean all types of weird stuff. You started noticing that you had boobs—tiny ones or maybe a tad bit rounder ones—and then you noticed that hair was growing in all types of weird places.

You might have had a growth spurt that made you a bit clumsy—in some cases, terribly clumsy.

And then one day your tummy started to hurt or you felt a little too uncomfortable and OMG you were on your first period!

Dis tew much 😦

The point here? It’s that you are not alone. You are not the only girl who has ever gone through any of this before. Puberty? It’s the norm.

You may have gone through it earlier than most girls, or later, or maybe it came around at the average time, but the big picture is that no one is more “special” or “cooler” than you are just because of their physical development.

Back when I was in middle school, it was a “bad thing” to be made curvy. Back then you were just considered “fat”. Currently, the “popular” trend is to be curvy. To sum it all up? Trends suck. When one thing is in, the other one is out. How lame.

So. Lame.

Why can’t everything just be “in” at the same time?

Here at Carolina Girls in Action, we know that a trend doesn’t define how “cool”, “popular”, or “attractive” we are. At C.G.I.A. we know that everyone is unique and everyone is “cool”, “popular”, and “attractive” in our book.
